Your new website will be able to generate revenue for you. I guarantee it!

Not just any kind, but the very best kind. It's called passive income. Passive income is when you build something that can generate money with no additional effort on your part. It's something you can do while you're riding, mucking or at the feed store.

There are three ways you can make money with your site. I'm going to list them in reverse order of importance.

1. Selling banner ads (not too likely!)

With your new site, you will be able to run banner ads for others. The only tough part about this: You need to sell advertising, which isn't all that easy. To be taken seriously you'll need to design a rate sheet, talk to people, invoice them, chase them when they don't pay their invoices... It's like a whole new business. Oh, and people who might want to advertise with you, they'll also want to know how much traffic you get which means you'll need to learn about all that too.

So selling banner ads on your website is not all that exciting of an opportunity. But ... the feature does exist so when your site does get big and rich, you'll be ready to go. (or you can run banner ads for local businesses for free, just to get more traffic!)

2. Using Google Ads (works, but very slowly)

You know what this is about. If not, it's simple. You go to Google and sign up for their ads program. Give them a few days and some human will stop by your site to make sure you're not into horse porn or something they don't approve of. Once that's in place, you get a code that you plop into your site ... and ads magically appear. If you are writing some copy about a horse show in Vegas, Google may put some casino ads on your site. If you write a story about how to ship a horse, you'll likely see some horse shipper appear.

Downside of Google ads: You may have noticed "write a story" above. This means for this to work, you need to write copy/stories/news. If you're not willing to do this, then Google ads won't do all that much for you. The other downside is that most ads only pay a few cents per click, which means you'll need to get lots of visitors to make any real money. Now, there's NOTHING wrong with making only a few pennies here and there, but if you have only one website, it's going to take a long time for this method to generate anything you can fold.

3. Affiliate sales (this is it!)

The best for last. Affiliate sales is a way of being able to sell without having to handle any of the customer service. No inventory. No shipping. No support calls.

Here's how it works:

When we install your site, we will put a small ad on your home page that attempts to get other horse people to visit what you're reading now. If they do that, and if they purchase a site from me, you'll earn about $250. (I pay commission on whatever amount they purchase, but the average is about $250 per sale)

What do you have to do to make this work?

The only thing you have to do is get people to visit your site. Put a big banner on your truck. Hand out cards at the next horse show. Send email to everyone you know. What's also great about this... nothing on your site will say you're selling anything. It's just a link and if they click it, we'll know the traffic came from you.

One more thing: Because we want your site to be popular, any horse stories we write, you're welcome to post. In doing so, your site gathers a following and increases your chance of generating affliate sales. We'll also submit your site to Google and the rest after we install because your success is our success.
